My Beloved Fellow-Members in Christ, around the World:
I welcome you to the Golden Candlestick,
by sharing with you this challenging old hymn below. It was my privilege to become acquainted with the writings of Mother
Frances Metcalfe, many years ago, when around eighteen years of age. Mother Sophia Minor shared with me some copies of The
Golden Candlestick pamphlets, which greatly impacted my life. Then, when in Bible School, dear Dad Spencer shared her writings
with us and spoke of her with great fondness, as a deeply spiritual woman, with a keen insight into the ways and purposes
of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Earth and in the lives of His chosen vessels. Mother Metcalfe taught by way of prophetic impartation:
Hers was indeed a "Deeper-Life" Ministry which reflected her own life. She was ever teaching, instructing, and showing the
way into a meaningful relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, and indeed leading and guiding the "hungry-ones" into higher
heights and deeper depths. Truly, she was employed by our Lord and wise and skillful shepherdess, to lead His chosen ones
upon "the hills and mountains of Israel;" Yeah, even upon the mountains of spices . . . upon those delectable hills of aromatic
and perfumed splendor. Higher up the mountain . . . higher up the mountain . . . yeah, higher up the mountain, ever ascending
out of the mundane and earthy, unto the mountains of Ether . . . lo, unto the Mountain of God! Truly she was a woman of great
piety and holiness, who lived more in the Heavenlies, than upon Earth. I cannot think of any hymn which would more aptly bespeak
the life of this great woman of God, than the one we have felt led to post below.

Savior, lead me up the mountain, Where the Lord alone is seen; Where we hear the
voice from heaven, Where the air is pure and clean.

Higher up where light increases, Far above all earthly strife; Where the strain of
