You, The Watchman
By: Becky Britton Volz
I have been hearing in my spirit a lot lately.... Watchmen – Watchmen on the Wall. I feel I am to have
my ears open to “hear” the voice of the watchmen and I have also been feeling in my spirit “get ready, be
prepared, get the house in order.” I would be much happier if I had specifics or details about the preparation in the
natural, so I am just doing as much as I can each day to get 'ready.'
"Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they
shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion” (Isaiah 52:8).
"I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace
day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence” (Isaiah 62:6).
"Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the
word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not
warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his
wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul” (Ezekiel 3:17-19).
Then, I did some Scripture searching on the Watchmen. In Isaiah 21:6-8 it says, “A Message concerning Edom:
A voice calls to me from the Seir Mountains in Edom, 'Night watchmen! How long till daybreak? How long will this night last?'
The night watchmen calls back, 'Morning's coming But for now it's still night. If you ask me again, I'll give the same answer.'
(Modern English Paraphrase.)
"For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare
what he seeth. And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened
diligently with much heed: And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am
set in my ward whole nights” (Isaiah 21:6-8; King James Version).

"I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning”
(Psalm 130:5,6).
"Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear
as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?” (Song of Solomon 6:10).
"The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should
know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the
learned. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back” (Isaiah 50:4,5)
"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that
ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts”
(2 Peter 1:19).
My compassionate heart just aches for those yearning for the morning Light, and their deliverance from the night
season. You hear the same questions coming from a mother about to be delivered “how much longer?”

"Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she
was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth
in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children” (Isaiah
66:7,8).
"To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child”
(Luke 2:5).
"And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared
of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days” (Revelation 12:6).
Then I thought of the Scripture in Roman 8:19-23: “That's why I don't thing there's any comparison between
the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything
in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be
released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens. All around us we observe
a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it's not only around us;
it's within us. The Spirit of God is stirring/awakening us within. We're also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren
bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us any more than waiting diminishes
a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting period. We, of course, don't see what is enlarging us. But the longer we
wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.” (Modern English Paraphrase)
"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation
of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the
same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty
of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only
they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for
the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (Romans 8:19-23; King James Version)

So, here we are watching and waiting until the light of the dawn shines bringing the new day. The birthing process
has begun... we are awaiting for the release. Keep pressing in, don't give up.
Blessed Songs of the Holy Spirit:
The Desert Shall Blossom
The Desert shall blossom as the rose,
The Desert shall blossom as the rose;
The Solitary-Place shall be glad, glad, glad,
And, the Desert shall blossom as the rose.
Sing, O Barren
Sing, O Barren, sing,
Ye that didst not bear;
Ye shall have a song,
To all men everywhere;
The River of God, within,
is flowing-out to save,
Sing, O Barren, sing;
For this is God's new day!
A Nation Shall Be Born
A Nation shall be born in a day,
A Nation shall be born in a day;
When Zion travails, she shall bring forth,
And, A Nation shall be born in a day.
Thou Mighty Christ
Thou Mighty Christ, come forth in me,
My will, my way, I yield to thee;
The Barren sing, a travailing-song,
Oh! Praise His Name! It won't be long!
