MY MOM HELPING WITH THE PRIMERING
We have been able to make a
good start on the scraping and painting process of the exterior of the church! Praise the Lord! In the pictures below you
will see some before and after pictures. Above you will see my Mom, who has been helping to scrape and put on the first coat
of primer. She has been working on this nearly every week, and even going when I can't be there! What a blessing!
She is working so hard because she loves this little old country church and believes that there is a great purpose in God
for it! Others have helped with the scraping, thank God, but the only person so far that has put a brush in
their hand besides myself is my dear Mother. She scraped and primered about half of the lower section of the building,
while I have been working on the higher sections! God bless her! Amen!
BEFORE AND AFTER
You can see in the first picture
what the front of the church looked like when it was almost done being scraped. The scraping and sanding is tedious,
and the part showing took 7 hours just to get ready for primer. The middle picture is a "half and half" photo,
showing the contrast of the right hand side with primer, and left side without. Finally, you can see the front fully
primered. We intend to also apply two coats of paint over the primer, but for now are focusing on trying to
get all the primering done first, as it will seal and protect the wood. If we still have time this season, we will
start with the paint. Progress has been slower than we hoped, but THANK GOD, we are moving forward and seeing progress!
Sherwin Williams kindly donated about $350 worth of primer and paint, and others have made donations toward
the purchase of more painting supplies. Thank you to each of you who have graciously sown into this endeavor with your
prayers and financial blessings!
WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE
You can see me on the ladder
in the picture on the left, and two local friends helping with scraping in the picture on the right. We are so thankful
for what the Lord has helped us to accomplish! Yet, there is a long way to go to complete the exterior painting work.
There is still much scraping and primering to do yet. Our hope is that the church will at least be primered
before cold weather, and then next year we will plan on painting it. We will also need more paint and primer
to complete the task. Please agree in prayer with us for the completion of this job and for God's increased blessing
upon this ministry! THANK YOU!
WITH OUR LORD'S
HELP AND THE SUPPORT OF THOSE WHO WOULD BE SO KIND AS TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THIS WORTHY CAUSE, AND WITH YOUR PRAYERS,
AND THE PRAYERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST, WE BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL MAKE A WAY FOR THE RESTORATION OF THIS GOSPEL LIGHTHOUSE!
